There should not be such issues - at least here, the device reservation does work correctly. But then, I don't think I had a restore running when a scheduled backup job started for a very long time, definitely not since 2.0 is released. From your description in your last mail, everything looks like the concurrent backup and restore are the key to understanding what happens. You should be aware that Bacula can NOT access a volume for reading and writing at the same time; while it's possible for disk based volumes, it is impossible for tapes, and for Bacula, all volumes behave like tapes (kind of). Normally, Bacula would notice that a volume or storage device is used for reading and will not try to write to it. Instead, the new jobs should be queued and appear with a status of "waiting for device" or similar. Can you show us the 'status storage' and 'status dir' output from a time where a restore runs and a backup is scheduled, and when the restore runs, the scheduled backup has been started, and everything seems to hang?
