Yikes - my bad. It is part of the win32 build (where I've been spending a lot of time lately) and didn't bother to check the OS X side of the house.
So, in the sd conf file where the directives are similar for your device, my best guess is it will mount in /Volumes/<tape drive> the relevant directive would be something like: Archive Device = /Volumes/YourHighSpeedTapeDrive of course, replace 'YourHighSpeedTapeDrive' with the actual name of the volume of the tape drive. Hope this points you in the right direction and my apologies for the tapeinfo rabbit trail.
