Ok, this might be. And this might explain the two wrong files. I do not use any script to initialize the tape, and, apart from the tests you suggested and I did, bacula is the only application that's using this device. I'm controlling the machine via ssh, so I can't read the console. In the logs I found: Feb 16 13:04:50 xxxxx kernel: (sa0:sym0:0:5:0): tape is now frozen- use an OFFLINE, REWIND or MTEOM command to clear this state.
