Send in a Feature Request, maybe it will be accepted for implementation.

In any case, with the current system, the files can be recovered as long as 
the tape is not overwritten:

1. Use bextract
2. Use bscan (on the job)
3. You can use the restore command directly to restore all the files
   without the attributes being in the catalog.
