That is correct -- and the fact that the catalog setting seemed to make no difference somewhat verifies this. > I personally think > that the director should have barfed at this, or that there should be no > "DB name" parameter, instead using the Catalog's name itself or > something like that. > >> I disagree. > >> The usual setup in Bacula is to collect all information for one object >> and assign a name to it. I didn't really think that one out so well. I figured, however, that one would only need one database and that the catalogs were all stored in this database. If one indeed must generate multiple databases to have multiple catalogs, this should be mentioned somewhere a bit more clearly. I'll take a look at the docs and see. > That aside, I'm preparing to just set the thing to use one catalog, > since when I decided to use more than one I didn't really know why I > would or would not want that. And, naturally, you have a backup ;-) OK, thanks for the confirmation! - -- ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | |Ryan Novosielski - Systems Programmer III |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| |[EMAIL PROTECTED] - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent.|IST/AST - NJMS Medical Science Bldg - C630 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFFzOTQmb+gadEcsb4RAmjhAKCSnJL5W4VY1qqro/vnjb3RLLd+/ACfe/e6 vrUG0ZwGjhH8McMq1eAyhDU= =q1YT -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
