Gee Robert, this is really great news. I'm really amazed. When I first started working on Bacula, I submitted some changes to him that eliminated the need for gmake and used only standard make syntax because a lot of Unix distributions don't run gmake. The project was stalled enough that he didn't even want to look at the changes -- no loss of functionality for more portability. Anyway, I'll need to think about it for a while, but there are two things I have always wanted: 1. Portable Makefiles (or at least support for Solaris, SGI, ... where gmake isn't always the installed make). 2. A mode (probably command line option) that would produce output in a well documented machine readable format, so that programs like Bacula could easily interprete the output, which is sometimes slightly modified by certain packages, making the mtx-changer script more complicated. Of course, the above is just wishlist items. The important part is that the program runs as it does now, supports as many autochangers as possible, and is stable.
