> How could I restore data of my colleague if his notebook is unavialable In any console program (bconsole, gconsole, wsconsole ...) select the client of where you want the data and then after you select the files you want then change the client and possibly the where box too. In a text console (gconsole, wsconsole) you do this via the modify command. Also if you do this in a text console remember that you have to use forward slashes and not backslashes as the path even in windows. If you want more info on this search the list archives as this topic comes up a lot. > (broken or theft?) > Bacula backup process is stuck if a notebooks is not on the network. If a computer is not on the network and is scheduled to run a job bacula will try a few times and then timeout and go on to the next jobs. I know this too works as my department has just moved to a new building with new ip addresses. Each evening I run an incremental backup on around 50 computers and any of these that bacula does not connect to it skips. One thing you probably want to set is maximum concurrent jobs as this allows more than one job to run at the same time. http://www.bacula.org/dev-manual/Tips_Suggestions.html#SECTION0038170000000000000000 I use this to make better use of my autoloader on my nearly 100% gigabit network but I can see that it would probably help in the case of computers not being available on the network as well.
