Since then Bacula 2.0.0 has been released and I have given DVD writing a good test. I am now happy that DVD writing mostly works although there are undoubtedly a number of issues remaining. Hopefully most of these revolve around getting the correct system configuration up and running. To help people I have put together a list of checks and notes that should help people getting Bacula to work with DVD drives.
For now I have published this at http://bridge.oldelvet.org.uk/bacula/BaculaDVDSetup.html I would be grateful if people who give DVD writing a try could send me feedback so that I can update the document to reflect the successes and problems that people have. In time I would hope that Kern will find space on bacula.org to house this but for now it is easiest if I update it in place.
