Hi All

First, hello. I am a new bacula user and it looks like a great tool.
I'll be using it to backup a small home network of linux, mac and
windows machines.

I'm still trying to figure out a few things (I'll make a separate
post with my problem) but wanted to see where things stood with a
native OSX installer for the file daemon only. I checked the archives
and saw a few discussions which looked like someone might have built
one, but didn't see a download link (nor is there one available on
sf.net).

I know you can just build it yourself, but for those who just want to
backup a mac, an installer is a must imho. Short of supplying a
server name and password, the client install should be a no-brainer
and no skill should be required. It will also be beneficial to have
the installer available for download along with the server downloads.
For example it took me a while to figure out that the fink version
was old and incompatible with the latest version. I think it needs to
be elevated to first class citizenship :)

If no-one has done this, I'd be willing to create an installer. I
have never made one, but sounds like fun. I don't want to reinvent
the wheel if it exists though.

Oh, I updated the fink package to 1.38.11 and submitted it. It was my
first package submission to fink so I honestly have no idea how long
it will take to get accepted. If anyone needs the .deb files, just
let me know.

charles
