Yes, but of course it's hard to determine what actually happened afterwards... and I doubt you'd want to try that scenario again :-) If you do, turn on debug output and see what that tells. The relevant parts ight be hard to spot in the loads of information you get at higer debug levels, so you should reserve some time for it. Regarding the VolFiles field in the catalog - you could compare what the catalog has with the llist command (I think) and what the tape drive sees when forwarding to the end of media using a command like 'mt eom' followed by 'mt status'. There should be the current file number in the output.
