I saw this a few weeks ago (just before I went on vacation) but haven't had chance to investigate further. I wasn't sure it was "real" because I was trying to get migration to work and I was using DVD writing. The device kept appearing and disappearing from the In Use list. At the time my best guess was that it might be something to do with the DVD "parts" system and possibly happens when things are actually being written to the DVD from the spool area. As such it may turn out to be different to that reported previously in this thread. It will probably be a week or two before I have the time to test this particular issue again (plus I will need to borrow the DVD writer from my live backup system).
