The problem workstation runs WinXP SP2+all the up-to-date fixes and a copy Norton AV 2005. I disabled it last night, and voila -- no problem. Other similarly configured systems with Norton AV 2006 or greater don't seem to exhibit the problem. If Torsten needs a test box to play with that reliably exhibits the problem, I think I can make it accessible to him. > (Completely unrelated, but I know you're working with IBMs big systems: > How do you set the MTU for a specific interface or route on OS/400? :-) Which version of OS/400? It was different in different releases. (BTW, that's *midrange* -- zSeries is big...8-)) General answer is in the gateway statements in the TCP config file; you can manipulate it via the panel interface or edit the dataset directly. It can also be on the link and device definition statements (override in gateway). The syntax is a bit bizarre, so I'd recommend using the panel interface. Let me know what release of OS/400 or i5OS it is off-list, and I can probably be more specific. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
