We are successfully using Bacula across a WAN. We have some clients configured PIX <-> WAN <-> PIX, some configured PIX <-> WAN <-> SMOOTHWALL, and some PIX <-> VPN <-> PIX. All work just fine. The only issue we ran into was where I have several clients behind a single IP. In that case I just put each client on a unique port. You will need to follow the instruction in the manual concerning Firewalls. We have ACLs in our PIXs to allow the fd to reach out to the sd and the dir to reach out to the fd. So far no problems. Our biggest issue has been bandwidth and just being able to move the amount a data we need on a sometimes less than great connection. Not at all Bacula's fault. Maybe they forgot who made that choice possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
