I don't know specifically about the ltos, but when I used dlts and had the hp support tech onsite he said they tape drives were actually quantum.
But, that is something I heard from someone who heard it from someone else, not to mention that this is a business where vendors change their practices as often as politicians change their mind... So, I'm saying it may not matter which brand you purchase, but rather which one you can get the best support. For me, a well supported expensive drive is a good deal, and a well supported bargain drive is better. But any drive that is poorly supported is not a good deal at any price. Don.
