Hard to tell. I think it's most probable that you either accidentially sent the files to the wrong client or location (this happens more often they you'd suspect ;-) or that you tried to restore a windows backup to a non-windows machine. Other than that I can't help without a better understanding of what you did, i.e. commented console output of the whole restore process.
