it was in the dird.conf, at the bottem where the "pool"(s) is/are
defined. My mistake..., it was not the "media type" keyword that was
missing, but the "storage" keyword for my Tape pool, I have a
confusing config at the moment using the same definition "Tape" for
storage and pool etc. when I set it up initially, I was fast and loose
with my terms..... I'll be working on making them a little more clear.

it was strange because I could backup to and restore from the tape drive
using the tape pool for regular jobs, (with the missing storage keyword
defined) and same for the File pool (which had the keyword defined)

but when doing the migration it wasn't sure where to go.

The Migration feature is one of the reasons I started to look into it.
The backup software I'm using now is Very* old, and the company has been
out of business for a number of years now. I'm locked into a particular
tape drive via licensing... and I'm running into capacity issues. So
here we are.
