That occurred to me sometime in the middle of the night, but only for tapes to which Bacula had already written data. I had not seen the implications that Bacula having labeled a tape in compressed mode precludes ever writing uncompressed data to it. So, it seems that using encryption with Bacula changes the way that one must think about encryption. That is fine, I just had not seen it before. I am at a reasonable point to start over by relabeling everything with h/w compression off, so that is the approach I will take. Thanks much for the thoughtful followup. -- -- Michael ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
