I have a schedule set up for several jobs to start at staggered times.
I am about 15 tapes and three weeks into a backup set on a 4 drive, 60
slot autochanger. I am running CVS as of a couple of days ago.

A few days ago I changed the schedule so that a job, call it B, that
normally started later in the process now starts first. Before the
schedule change, job A would take tape drive 0, and job B would take
tape drive 1.

After the schedule change, B now takes tape drive 0. When A starts it
pends because it wants to load its tape into drive 0. The only way
around this is to intervene and unload the B tape and load the A tape.

Why is this happening, and what is the best way to repair this? I
figure it is something at the Volume level, but I've not yet found it.

I would expect that in a multi-drive changer the drives would be used
on an as-available basis as they should be expected to be identical,
but that is not what is happening now. Is there a way to make that
happen?

Thanks much,
