This is documented. See the "portable" setting in the Fileset definition 
(IIRC).

It's got nothing to do with compression, it's simply incompatible file 
metadata between windows and unix. The upcoming 1.40 version should cure 
that problem - some time in the 1.39 development this got possible.

More detailed information can be found in the bacula-devel mailing list 
archives, and probably in the release notes in the cvs.
