In short -- if you are using the port, look in the files/ directory  
of the port.  There is a patch there put there by the maintainer (for  
unknown reasons) which disables backtrace.  Reverse out the patch and  
"cd work/bacula* ; make ; cd ../.. ; rm work/.pack* ; make package"  
and you'll have enabled backtrace support.
