Meanwhile, I solved my problems: two clients were still running Bacula 1.34 and the third one, which I upgraded to 1.38.11, had re-started the old file daemon. After correcting these errors, everything is fine! After all, Bacula 1.38 seems to be able to back up clients down to 1.36, but not below that version.
