I've seen quite a few questions over the past week regarding non-
bconsole console problems.  My suggestion has always been to try 
bconsole and if the problem does not occur there, the problem is not 
with "Bacula"-proper but with with the other console program.

I think Bacula has "advanced" and the console program in question is 
out of date.
