Unfortunately, the information in the above link is no longer accurate. It is no longer possible to define two different Storage resources in the Director that point to the same autochanger and have both those storage devices reference the autochanger. In prior versions, this worked because Bacula in fact handled only one autochanger -- it would not work correctly with two because it treated all autochangers and the one unique one it knew about. Since version 1.38.0, Bacula knows what volumes are in each autochanger as defined on different Storage daemons. As a consequence, the above "trick" will no longer work because Bacula will treat the two autochangers as totally different devices. > > DAve > > > ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ > > > > |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | |Ryan Novosielski - Systems Programmer III > > |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| |[EMAIL PROTECTED] - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) > > > > \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent.|IST/AST - NJMS Medical Science Bldg - C630 > > > > Jason Edgecombe wrote: > >> hi, > >> > >> I've been reading the docs, but I have yet to stumble over an overview > >> of how the network communications of bacula work. > >> > >> I have a backup server with an autochanger that is on a private network > >> with NAT to the main network.
