Hi,

It is 1.6 GB, not 1.6TB. Yes it does the backup successfully.

   Thanks

Possibly something to do with the 1000:1 compression? Has it actually backed up 1.6TB?

Subject: [Bacula-users] Terrible performance for backing up bacula server

Hi,

I’m new in bacula. I use bacula to do net backup for a small project.

When bacula back up files in its client (another host in the network) to the tapes attached with bacula server, the performance is acceptable. For example, it can be 14721.4 KB per second.

When bacula back up files in the backup server to the tapes attached with himself, the performance is terrible. Its rate is as low as 73.3 KB per second! It takes 6 hours to back up 1.6 GB!

In the beginning, I thought that it might be a problem of resource of bacula server so that I verify its memory and CPU usage etc. However, there is no swapping, no CPU tolerating found. Could some experts explain me why?

  Thanks in advance.
