Concerning saving from machine A to B, B to C, and C to A IIRC.

Use one machine as a backup server, and use removable media. You only
have to manage one program installation, one configuration, you need
only one terminal - much simpler, and simplicity is good.

Redundancy concerning backed up data should be achieved, IMO, using
multiple copies of volumes (i necessary) and multiple backup generations.

If you want to minimize the chances of a desaster, move the catalog
database to another machine than the DIR and SD. In case you lose your
catalog, you can restore it using the existing SD setup and the
bootstrap file of your current catalog backup. If you lose your DIR/SD
machine, you only need a (rather simple) setup of OS+Bacula and your
configuration. Assuming you really use a minimal setup, a hard disk
image of this fits on one DVD, perhaps even CD.
