I like SuSE a lot and have been running it and participating in the betas for severals years. However, 10.1 has been very problematic. I would wait until they sort out the package manager problem(s). They are getting close. There was a major fix about a week ago. I haven't had time to monitor the reaction. I concur with the conclusion, I am just advising caution on the timing.
