This works for me on my RHELAS4 box: gnome-console -c /etc/bacula/gnome-console.conf
I created a Gnome icon for it and it works fine. Hmm, in order to let a non-techie use it, you'll have to either 1) redirect your X display, or 2) use XDMCP. It's a bit of trouble. I assume your operator's computer is runnning some flavor of Windows - you could simply install the Bacula client for Windows, because it includes wx-console. He'll be able to work from it just like he'd do with gnome-console, but with a far simpler setup and less security-related worries.
