I'm not able to reproduce this using current versions of Windows.  But I would like to understand the problem so that I could add a fix for it in the Windows work I'm doing on Bacula.

I noticed jimbox reported seeing it on Windows 4.0.  Does my suggestion of adding System to the Backup Operators group solve the problem? If not, could you use cacls.exe to print out that ACLs and send them to me?

Could anyone seeing this problem send me the version information for Windows and Bacula and a cacls.exe output for affected directories and files.  (If all the ACLs are the same one copy will do. :-).

Thanks,

Hello,

ok, thats possible, but I don't really call this solving the problem. We want these ACLs.

Greetings

Guys,
I too came across this problem, and solved it rather
easily.
The problem was that several files had restrictive
ACLs - the end users were (wrongfully) granted Full
Control to their folders, where Modify would suffice.
So I went through each folder with the error
"ERR=Access is denied" in the log file, and

1) Granted ownership of the folder to the
Administrators group, with the option to replace the
owner in all child objects;
2) Granted Full Control permissions to the
Administrators group, changed the users' group to only
have Modify, and replaced the permissions on all child
objects.

That did the trick for me. Regards,

Georger
