Hi Florian, I have exactly the same issue. I installed Bacula 1.38.9 (great program!) with MySQL catalog on a RHEL AS4 server - we're going to backup this machine itself (Oracle 10g R2) and a Windows 2000 file server with it - and get the very same message. When I fire up gnome-console and issue the ".status" command, I get the following output:
Connecting to Director xxx.xxx.xxx:9101 1000 OK: xxx-dir Version: 1.38.9 (02 May 2006) .status Using default Catalog name=CatMySQL DB=bacula 1900 Bad .status command, missing arguments. The strange thing is, I've successfully run a backup job, and my MySQL tables have data in them. I've also successfully queried the catalog. Another one is that I get the following when I issue the "status storage" command: Device status: Device "FileStorage" (/dados/restore) is not open or does not exist. Device "LTO-2" (/dev/nst0) is mounted with Volume="DO1O1IL2" Pool="*unknown*" Total Bytes Read=0 Blocks Read=0 Bytes/block=0 Positioned at File=0 Block=0 ==== See? My LTO-2 drive is listed in Pool="*unknown*" - but it's in pool Default and, as I said, I managed to run a backup on this. You're not alone :) Regards, Georger --- Florian Kieling <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> escreveu: > Hallo Folks, > > I've configure my tray-monitor and start it. but i > get for the dir this > message: > 'You must specify a "use <catalog-name>" command > before continuing.' > But I don't found in the docemtation an "use" or > "Calatog" directive for the > director section. > That action means this message?
