Under windows, if multiple IP addresses exist in the DNS for a name, it will use the one on a link local network in preference to any others. I'm not sure if this is done by default under Linux, but you can put eg 'sortlist 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0' in your resolv.conf to achieve the same result. This way, you could put all the ip addresses of the sd in the dns and be sure that clients will only use the one local to them. I still think my suggestion of having a dummy address on each sd is the most flexible though, and administratively easier if you use dynamic routing. James PS.
