I did not enable VSS for the backups (should I?) and VSS only works for Win 2003 Server and Win XP, not Win 2000 server correct? The Win 2000 Server is a MS SQL Server and I have a few large files to backup. The Win 2003 Server is an Intersystems Cache Database server and it too has a few large files to backup. > Can you please check the cpu load during backup and during "estimate"? > With old fd in comparison to new fd? Right, but when I hit the large files, I see a spike in the transfer rate with the 1.37.32 client - but with the 1.38.[8|9] client I see a reduction in transfer rate. I did a -d 200 on the 1.38.8 client on the win 2000 server if you want to take a look at the trace file. Thank you, Tom. ---- Thomas J.
