The Source Forge public CVS is broken. Please find the recent email from Dan Langille, who is providing a daily tar file of the developer's CVS. Although I welcome users trying this, for the moment I cannot provide much help because we are just at the point of getting it all to work, and it is a bit unstable at the moment. However, there are several users on the list who may be able to help.
