Hello Eric and list, thank You for taking the time for this write-up.
I'm using bacula and very confident about it, but agree on all points mentioned, and still lack a 'good feeling' about my configuration, which is the reason I'm backing up about 20 clients in a completely ashaming schedule of manual full backups whenever I get around to them. (It might be a matter of practice, but I am confident I can set up a whole company's backup environment within a few hours in networker, while on bacula I just find it highly unattractive to do *anything at all* except adding and testing more clients) Personally I think it's enough if the points are overcame at some point in the future, as for me the easy implementation of safe 'backups with the internet in between' are far more important. (not mentioning the pricing difference between SSL and 'teh NSR firewall extension'.) But on the other hand I love bacula and only use it for non-critical, non-business backups, and it might be time to repriorize features vs. usability in the next poll if more people share Eric's view. :/ Florian ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
