I would hate to see support for Solaris go away. I don't know what's involved with running the regression scripts but I have a Solaris 10 box with an slr5 tape drive so I could probably run them as long as their not destructive to the system. Do you have any interest in pkgadd installable packages for Solaris? For testing new releases I build against a full install of Solaris 10/1-06 which ships with mysql 4.0.24. For my production use I build packages for both mysql and bacula on 10/3-05 which are controlled by SMF and installed in /opt/local. Although I'm not a programmer, I feel support for Solaris is vital so if I can assist please let me know.
