Hi,

is there any way to backup directory trees containing a huge number of files
(tens of millions) using Bacula? The catalog gets too large when it contains
info about every file and maintaining many catalogs doesn't seem to be a good
idea either.

Is there any possibility of telling Bacula not to store info about every file
into the catalog? Something like FileRetention=0 maybe?

A workaround could be to pack the whole tree into a single file and back it
up, but I haven't found any way to backup the output of a command directly, so
I have to run it as a pre-backup command and therefore have extra space for
the temporary packed file.

Thanks.

Martin
