Thanks for the feedback everyone.

My goal is for the 'owner' of the client machine to do their own restores. When connecting to the director from the client side wx- console, the end user is presented with all the variables (though locked down via ACL entries specific to that console (configured of course via the dir.conf file.)

To minimize major confusion, I'm desiring to limit the catalog view specific to the client machine. It appears now that all catalogs, pools, jobs et al. are presented via the standard query.sql file. Since the dir daemon knows which client console is connecting, is there a way to limit the view that particular console receives?

Am I still operating under a misunderstanding or am I getting it correct now?

Thanks again,

Erich

Looking for a way to limit the FD view for restores to exclude all other client records but those related specifically to that FD.

Seems to me the mechanism would be an SQL query, but unable to find any documentation on how to invoke a client specific query. Couple that with my complete noobness as it relates to MySQL and we've got trouble in River City.

Anyone already done figured this one out and would be willing to show the way?
