Unfortunately, I can't give you much advice there, but I suppose the XCode help can. (Sidenote: If you're using OSX 10.4, don't bother with startscripts, it's all different now...)
DarwinPorts (http://darwinports.opendarwin.org) includes a port for 1.38.2.
