Could you elaborate on which line, please? I am having the same problem with a VXA AutoPak and v. 1.38.3. mtx-changer returns the correct slot count but bconsole says its "0", which blocks the loading of tapes for labeling. >From my bacula-sd.conf: Autochanger { Name = AutoPak Device = Drive-1, Drive-2 Changer Command = "/etc/bacula/mtx-changer %c %o %S %a %d" Changer Device = /dev/sg4 } Device { Name = Drive-1 # Drive Index = 0 Media Type = VXA Archive Device = /dev/nst1 AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it AlwaysOpen = yes; RemovableMedia = yes; RandomAccess = no; AutoChanger = yes # Enable the Alert command only if you have the mtx package loaded Alert Command = "sh -c 'tapeinfo -f %c |grep TapeAlert|cat'" } Device { Name = Drive-2 # Drive Index = 1 Media Type = VXA Archive Device = /dev/nst2 AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it AlwaysOpen = yes; RemovableMedia = yes; RandomAccess = no; AutoChanger = yes # Enable the Alert command only if you have the mtx package loaded Alert Command = "sh -c 'tapeinfo -f %c |grep TapeAlert|cat'" } > > On the subject of mtx-changer script, in the bacula release manual located > here: > http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Autochanger_Support.html > > In the section "Testing the Autochanger and Adapting your mtx-changer > script", it asks you to do the unload command: > > #/etc/bacula/mtx-changer /dev/sg0 unload > # > # If a tape is loaded, this should cause it to be unloaded. > > Which doesn't work because insufficient arguments are given: > > [root <at> shuswap bin]# ./mtx-changer /dev/sg0 unload > usage: mtx-changer ctl-device command slot archive-device drive > Insufficient number of arguments arguments given. > > Easy enough to resolve, just a minor documentation blip... > > --Chris > > >Hello, > >On 1/12/2006 12:14 AM, Chris Hunter wrote: >> Hi > again, >> > >> I am using bacula 1.38.2 on Scientific Linux 4.2 (rhel4 based distro). > >> I have a dell powervault 128t (HP7200) autochanger. > >> > >> I have some problems with the mtx-changer script. > >> I can run mtx-changer "slots" from the command line: > >> > >> [root <at> shuswap bin]# ./mtx-changer /dev/sg0 slots 1 /dev/nst0 0 > >> Doing mtx -f /dev/sg0 -- to get count of slots > >> 20 > > > > > >What happens if you run that command as the user bacula runs as? > > > >Arno > > > ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
