Hi,

I have a problem with the removal of "expired" Volumes. I tried a lot of
things in the Config and performed several searches in the Web but didn't
find a hint. So I hope someone here might set me to the right track:

I use Bacula to do a Backup to disk of my two Workstations to a third
machine, which also is being backed up to Disk. That works perfect.

However, I wanted to label the Files to reflect what's in 'em. So I set
Bacula up to use a Volume only once and create a Label like
"beaster-full-20051101". That also works nice. I set-up a Retention (Jobs
and Volume) of 31 days and only turned on autoPrune.

However, the Volumes themself are never being removed from the Filesystem
with this config. AutoPrune nicely removes the Jobs and Volumes from the
Database but not the Volume-File itself.

When I allow it to reuse Volumes it works fine again -- however, I lose
those "Human Readable" Volume-Labels - they remain the same for the
Lifetime of the Volume :-(

Is there a way to make Bacula remove unreferenced Volumes automagically? Or
is there a way to force it to re-label a Volume when it's being reused?

Sorry if this was answered before; as mentioned I searched this list and
also the Web but didn't find a clue :-(

MTIA!
Cheers,
_ralf_
