It is possible that you ran into a bug that slipped into 1.37.40 concerning 
the fact that it opens all drives initially in read-only mode.  This was 
fixed shortly after 1.37.40 was released.  I recommend that you move up to 
the current CVS, which is essentially the final release, or wait a day or two 
until the official source is released.

By the way, I'm pleased to see that the SD has run almost a month now on your 
site :-)
