Thanx for your suggestion.
I'd like you to have a look at this special case too, that may lead me to the
solution.
The only difference is that the backup is on file instead of on LTO.
I received the following mail from bacula, like if the volume was Used for some time
during the scheduled job, and then was purged by some bacula process, in time for
the job to go on.

linux-dir: Start Backup JobId 62, Job=BackupCatalog.2005-10-18_23.15.00
linux-dir: Pruned 2 Jobs on Volume "Linux2" from catalog.
linux-sd: Job BackupCatalog.2005-10-18_23.15.00 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes.
Please use the "label" command to create a new Volume for:
Storage: FileStorage
Media type: File
Pool: Linux2
linux-sd: Job BackupCatalog.2005-10-18_23.15.00 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes.

linux-dir: There are no Jobs associated with Volume "Linux2". Marking it purged.

That's true, but actually I don't want to help you set up Bacula to your
needs - I can offer you advice on how to set it up and troubleshoot, but
I usually get paid for custom-made installations :-)

Try to analyze what goes wrong, and if you've got questions then I'm
sure we will help you interpreting the output.

I think I pointed out that this is not the way I would use Bacula, and
thus I can't produce a fitting configuration without effort.
