Reading first block showed:

So the volume _is_ OK.

Next challenge, how do I find and remove the error flag from the
catalog?

Use the update command in bconsole, for example 'update media volume=Bacula02, then select 1, and set it to used, full or append.

Still, I'd rather check the volume is ok using btape, since btape also considers block sizes which are important to bacula.

If btape decides the tape is not labeled by bacula, you could either start a longer tape-debugging session, or simply relabel the tape using btape (effectively destroying the current contents and simply writing a new label onto it), and purge the tape's contents from the catalog.

Of course you will closely observe how bacula works with this tape in the future :-)
