This is the approach I'd suggest, yes. It'll make more efficient use of tapes to have a single Pool for each level. I actually combine Differentials and Incrementals into a single pool, but that's because I'm short on tapes. > If the full backup takes 2.5 tapes won't bacula still want to append to > the 3rd tape the next month which will be stored off site and not > available. I thought to use the "MaximumVolumeJobs" directive for this > problem but then isn't each system full backup a separate job? No, this isn't a problem. It may initially ask for the incomplete volume, but it'll accept any mounted volume from the correct Pool. And you can always use Maximum Volume Jobs or Volume Use Duration on your Full tapes, or even just manually mark the incompletely used tape as Used. -- Phil Stracchino [EMAIL PROTECTED] Renaissance Man, Unix generalist, Perl hacker Mobile: 603-216-7037 Landline: 603-886-3518 ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
