Is there an easy way to auto update the bacula clients (file daemons) when

version across the

manually update it when the stable version is released or if there is
a bug fix that I want to use.
I've been thinking about that lately...
1. Make sure the client programs are all installed in a known location.
2. Try to find out how windows creates the "Run once at system start and
then drop this information" registry entries - I never looked that up.
3. Create a backup with all necessary files, for example in
c:/temp/bacula-upgrade
4. You will need the client and all modified libraries, as well as some
scripts.
5. One script to be run as the "before windows loads completely" upgrade
script that copies the files to their final location.
6. One client run after job script that puts the above script into the
rigistry, deletes the intermediate directory c:/temp/bacula-upgrade, and
(if you want to) schedules a windows restart.
7. Restore that job to all clients, and have the client run after script
be executed.
That could by the outline. I never tried it yet, but I think his could
work. You'll probably need some test runs and tweaking, but when you're
done you will surely share your knowledge with us :-)
