That's OK; it doesn't have to, unless your machine has hardware installed which is supported only under a 2.6 kernel and without which you cannot run your restore. You're not going to be running your system, post-restore, from the kernel on the Knoppix CD. So as long as you can restore the system while booted from that CD, it doesn't matter whether the CD has a 2.6 kernel or not. You're going to boot from the CD, restore your hard disk, configure lilo or grub (as the case may be) if necessary, then reboot from the hard disk using the kernel you just restored onto it. -- Phil Stracchino [EMAIL PROTECTED] Renaissance Man, Unix generalist, Perl hacker Mobile: 603-216-7037 Landline: 603-886-3518 ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
