Hello, Well, this Open Source Funding idea has generated some interest that is for sure. I'm surprised that the email is so positive (or maybe I should say not negative depending on how one wants to look at it). In all the emails, there was only one gripe, no flames, a fair number of "I don't think it will work", and quite a few alternate suggestions.
I just received a link to DansGuardian, where he has done something very similar to what I am suggesting, but slightly more radical in requiring all downloads from commercial organizations after the first to pay a license fee. I haven't looked at his fee structure yet, but I find it an interesting example of something that seems to work. http://dansguardian.org/?page=copyright2 -- Best regards, Kern ("> /\ V_V ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
