Hi all First - huge thanx for trying to integrate VSS with bacula. For more than three weeks I've been runing a Linux test machine to backup Windows XP clients. Totally i have 16 Windows XP PC. In the beginning only 2 clients always failed to generate VSS snapshots with an error:
Generate VSS snapshots failed. ERR=The operation completed successfully. They both have the identical configuration; both have the same motherboard, ram, etc... and WindowsXP was installed a long time ago ( I will try reinstalling it and see if it fixes the problem) After some time (7-8 days, I do ncremental backups Monday-Friday, and full on saturday) more clients started to fail generate VSS snapshots. So now I have total of 8 clients that fail to generate VSS snapshots all with an error: Generate VSS snapshots failed. ERR=The operation completed successfully. I also noticed one strange thing - one day, when usual incremental backup started (all start at 7 PM, and run one-by-one) all clients that usually fail, this time failed with an error: Generate VSS snapshots failed. ERR=The system could not find the environment option that was entered. Any usefull information I could provide?
