Hello,

This morning, I released tar Bacula BETA 1.37.36 tar source and Windows VSS
binaries to the beta section of the Bacula project on Source Forge. There
will be no more releases of the non-VSS Win32 binarys. The major changes
since the 1.37.30 release are:

- Improved algorithm for reserving drives in multiple drive
  autochangers.
- Ability to mount, unmount, label, ... a specific autochanger
  drive (undocumented).
- A number of improvements in Win32 VSS error handling.
- Several nice new features from submitted patches (largely
undocumented except a bit in ChangeLog).
- Fixes to make ACLs work on a number of OSes.
- Open tape drives read-only until read-write needed.
- Fixes for direct DVD writing.
- Implemention of gettext() (can have non-English messages).
- A good number of bug fixes.

I consider this release quite stable, but there is probably still some work to
do on multi-drive autochanger support. With all BETA software, please test
carefully before putting it into a production environment.

Please read the ReleaseNotes and possibly the ChangeLog for more details.

Due to the number of changes in this update, the official release of 1.38 will
not occur for approximately a month, and may be delayed until early November
because of my planned vacation the later half of October.

Kern
