I presume I cannot use the relabel command within the console to relable a volume that has a status of "Error" (*)
So here's what I am thinking of doing: 1) delete the volume from the catalog via "delete volume=<vol> pool=<pool>" command in the console 2) Do a: mt rewind mt weof 3) label the volume again with the "label" command Sounds fair ? ( just waiting for the jobs to finish before I try this out ) (*) The volume got to the status of error because while backing up to the volume, the directory exited for whatever reason when I did a "query" on the console while a backup job was running. This left backup job incomplete on the volume. So I tried to somehow let bacula think that the volume is empty ( except for the label ) by using the "update" command from within the console to update the status, files in the volume ( to 0 ), etc ... so that it was left in further inconsistent state. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
