It's not that easy... you'll have to search the list archives. :-)
I have installed Bacula on a SuSE Enterprise Server 9.0 system with one internal VXA-1 drive and an external RakPak with two VXA-1 drives. Bacula recognizes all the drives and can write to them, and I have successfully backed up both the local machine and a remote Linux server.
good.
When I was running Backup Exec, the two external drives were defined in such a way that a backup job that started on the left-hand drive and filled the tape would automatically span to the tape in the right-hand drive. Is there a way to configure Bacula to do the same?
With some help... you need some funny scripting for this to work, or you need to wait. This is one of the features that are on Kerns to-do-list, but not yet implemented in the development version. See Kern's mail "Re: [Bacula-devel] concurrent jobs with multiple-drive autochanger" on bacula-devel for more information.
That said, look for mail from Mario Wolff, about 29 Jan this year, in the srchive. You will find a script that might do what you want.
The internal drive is /dev/nst0 and the external drives are /dev/nst1 and /dev/nst2.
This should not matter :-) Arno
